Below you find information on teachers currently teaching classes at Dragonfly’s Quilt Shop. These teachers (besides myself) are not employed by, nor employees of Dragonfly’s Quilt Shop or myself. I do facilitate the classes and scheduling in my shop, however the teachers work directly for you. Kathryn LeBlanc - Shop Owner/In House Teacher

My professional career stems from Accounting as I worked as a Project Accountant for an environmental company, traveling all over New England, for 10 years. After a layoff, I then went on to work at the Corporate Office for a well-known Pharmacy for 5 years in Accounts Payable; working from an entry-level temporary position to becoming the Supervisor in less than 2 years. Now I have landed myself a retail quilting shop in Bellingham, MA at the Bellingham Marketplace. I started quilting about six years ago. I “was” self-taught from the internet and YouTube, however after my first # of quilts fell apart because I didn’t actually “quilt” them…I received my official training from the lovely and talented ladies of the former Quilter’s Stash under the leadership of Sue Kassler. She once asked me why I was taking the rotary cutting class (after I had been a customer for several years). My reply was since I was self-taught I was relearning everything I could, the correct way this time :)! Prior to opening the shop, I learned a myriad of different skills from Judy Lancaster of Tall Tree Creations, with all of her unique classes. Currently I attend monthly online seminars through the Modern Quilt Guild, of which I am a member; as well as the Rhode Island Modern Quilt Guild in which I hold the title Vise President of the Guild. I took several seminars at MQX with Linda Hahn as well as seminars at International Quilt Market in May. Also of note, I created and maintain this website as well. (self-taught - however I did not design the web graphics).

Nina Hunt - Independent Teacher

Nina Hunt has been sewing since a home economics teacher introduced her to sewing at 10 years old. This year, she won Rookie of the Year 2014 at MQX (Machine Quilters Expo.) quilting show with her quilt “Pink Hibiscus”. She has a bachelors of Science in Fine Arts and a Masters of Science in Library Science. Presently, she is exploring art quilting and is a member of SAQA (Surface Art Quilters Association), The American Quilters Guild and Yankee Quilters Guild. Nina also has a successful Long Arm business.

Karen Ivas - Independent Teacher

You may know Karen from her days as an employee at Quilter’s Stash. Karen has superb attention to detail and immaculate quilting. Karen is also beginning to make some of our shop samples. You will start to see more from her as time goes by. It is an honor to have her teaching classes on our schedule and I am looking forward to taking many of her classes as well.

These talented ladies are hard at work testing many of the patterns I bring to you (as well as checking my typo’s and measurements)! Disclaimer - I may make slight changes at the end of the process and I take full responsibility for the final outcome of all patterns that I create.
